A Total of 108 Proposals Received by Deadline

NPRB is pleased to accounce that it received 108 proposals, requesting $20.5 million, which will be competing for $4 million in funding available for research projects in 2012. Last year, NPRB received 116 proposals requesting $22.8 million.

Signature pages are due by December 19 to successfully complete the application process.

Each proposal will be reviewed by external scientific reviewers and the NPRB Science Panel, which will rank them according to scientific merit and make recommendations to the Board. The Advisory Panel will review the highly ranked proposals and send the Board recommendations based on stakeholder and societal relevance. In May, the Board will meet to make the final decisions on which projects to recommend for funding to the Secretary of Commerce, based on pressing fishery and ecosystem management needs and budgetary constraints. Proposal Application Process

NPRB is pleased to release its 2012 Request for Proposals for a total of $4.0 million.   The 2012 RFP is similar in form and content to past NPRB RFPs with research priorities structured around the 2005 NPRB Science Plan.  Please consult the 2012 RFP (see sidebar) and the NPRB Science Plan for further details on this year’s research priorities.

The deadline for online proposal submission has passed. The following directions will be left on the website until the December 19 signature page deadline.

In order to enter the proposal submission system you must download the NPRB RFP2012 v1.2.27 application to your computer. Click on the installer link in the table below that corresponds to your operating system. If you do not already have JAVA on your computer, download an installer that includes JRE.

The installer will create an icon on your desktop called "NPRB RFP2012". Click on this icon to open the submission system. For technical assistance with the submission system installer or application, please contact Igor Katrayev at igor.katrayev@nprb.org or at 907-644-6711.
