These student awards support scientific and scholarly research that informs effective management and sustainable use of marine resources in north Pacific waters. This year's deadline is February 12, 2016 at 4 pm AKST.

During its annual spring meeting, the North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) approved a total of nine graduate student awards—the most ever awarded for the program. Three masters level awards and six PhD level awards will be issued for 2015.

The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) has received approval from the U.S. Secretary of Commerce for its 2014 funding package. The package inlcudes $150,000 to be distributed among six graduate students to address scientific, technological and socioeconomic issues relating to research themes identified in NPRB’s science plan.
