2004 Request for Proposals
- Released: October 7, 2003
- Amount: $3 million in Environmental Improvement and Restoration Funds and other funds available to NPRB for research projects starting in 2004.
- Priorities: Marine ecosystem structure and processes; endangered and stressed species; fish habitat; fishery management and economics; bycatch; stock assessment and recruitment processes; and contaminants.

- Amount: more than $17 million by December 5, 2003
- Evaluations: Technical evaluations occurred in early 2004; 214 reviews were obtained. The Science Panel met in Anchorage on March 2-4 to review proposals and evaluations, and presented funding recommendations to the Board at its meeting on March 17-19.
- Funded: $3,623,677 for 23 research projects
The Board's recommendations for 2004 were approved by the Secretary of Commerce acting through his designee, the Alaska Regional Administrator for NOAA Fisheries.
