Review and Funding Summary
2007 Request for Proposals
- Released: September 29, 2006
- Amount: $3.895 million in Environmental Improvement and Restoration Funds and other funds available to NPRB for research projects starting in 2007.
- Priorities: The 2007 priorities relate directly to the Board’s Science Plan and encourage proposals with the use of Local and Traditional Knowledge (LTK).
Proposal Receipt and Review
- Received: 93 by December 1, 2006
- Amount: $14.2 million
- Evaluations: Technical evaluations occurred during early 2007. The Science Panel met in Seward April 10-12 to review proposals and evaluations, and presented funding recommendations to the Board at its Anchorage meeting on April 25-26.
- Funded: $4.558 million for 29 research projects
The Board's recommendations for 2007 were approved by the Secretary of Commerce acting through his designee, the Alaska Regional Administrator for NOAA Fisheries.
