Review and Funding Summary
2008 Request for Proposals
- Released: October 3, 2007
- Amount: $4 million in Environmental Improvement and Restoration Funds and other funds available to NPRB for research projects starting in 2008.
- Priorities: The 2008 priorities relate directly to the Board’s Science Plan and encourage proposals with the use of Local and Traditional Knowledge (LTK).
Proposal Receipt and Review
- Received: 89 by November 30, 2007
- Amount: $15.85 million
- Evaluations: Technical evaluations occurred during early 2008. The Science Panel met in Seattle April 15-17 to review proposals and evaluations, and presented funding recommendations to the Board at its Anchorage meeting on April 30-May 1.
- Funded: $4.127 million for 25 research projects
The Board's recommendations for 2008 were approved by the Secretary of Commerce acting through his designee, the Alaska Regional Administrator for NOAA Fisheries.
