Board Approves Call for Arctic Program Pre-Proposals

Tags: Arctic Program

During the North Pacific Research Board’s (NPRB) recent spring meeting, the board decided to move forward with a pre-proposal process for an integrated Arctic marine research program. The Arctic Program represents the third Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (IERP) that NPRB has launched since its inception. These programs coordinate and integrate multi-disciplinary investigations to examine marine ecosystem processes in detail. This program will be conducted in partnership with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Alaska Region, the North Slope Borough/Shell Baseline Studies Program (BSP), and the North Pacific Marine Research Institute (NPMRI). Several other agencies have committed to integrating ongoing research projects with this program as well.

NPRB anticipates releasing the call for pre-proposals soon. Details will be posted on the Arctic Program website: The deadline for submission of pre-proposals will be July 31, 2015. NPRB will review pre-proposals this fall and intends to invite full proposals in early October. The anticipated deadline for full proposals will be January 15, 2016.

NPRB will hold an informational teleconference shortly after the call for pre-proposals is released. Teleconference details will be included in the request for proposals.
